The origin of the name - "मनRay" - Man = heart, Ray = light of hope.
मन (Maan), means mind. The mind is full of dreams, hope, care, love, and feelings of fulfilment in one’s life. Ray stands for light of hope – a hope of limitless boundaries and opportunities. When the mind and light come together, that is when the journey for better tomorrows begins.
The founder of the foundation, Mansi Dalal, thought about this name; it came from her heart. Things that are important in a human’s life are the hope to dream and dream to live a life the way one wants. In this society, she saw some tiny eyes who wish to see dreams but their tough life situations make it impossible for them, some small feet who don’t have proper access to walk for their dreams, some smiles that hide big pains, griefs, and need someone to understand them.
Mansi decided to be the supporter for their dreams, a hand of guardian to walk the path, and a person who listens to their stories and stands by them as a guide, philosopher, and friend.
At मनRay, we centrally believe that each and every child should have the right to dream, a safe environment to grow, the opportunity to study, to be educated, and to have a good life. Our work is rooted in the primary elements of ‘love’ and ‘light’. We believe these two can heal the generations and transform their futures.
मनRay at core provides supplies and guidance for education, hygiene, and life skills to the less privileged children in the rural areas. In Mumbai, we focus on providing workshops on spoken English skills and life skills in 5 Municipal schools and vernacular schools through activity-based learning that helps in improving vocabulary and fluency. In Palghar, we have three major focus points that include Hope Kit, Atmavishwas Project, and Parindey Project. We have trained volunteer teachers mentored by our founder, Mansi Dalal, who work wholeheartedly for these children. A proper regular track is maintained on the progress of the children through various activities like storytelling, debates, and skits.
